Cheers to Cali!

Tomorrow my love and I will celebrate two months of living in California. Time flies when you're having the time of your life! This is only the beginning. I'm ecstatic about being a part of opening The Shape of Behavior's newest clinic in North Hollywood, CA. I've had a great time attending events and networking. I carry TSOB business cards around with me because I never know who I'm going to encounter.
I have explored the Los Angeles area a lot, but my focus has been in the NOHO Arts District for the past couple of weeks. It’s close to home and there’s so much to do. It’s one of my favorite areas so far. There’s a comedy club, lots of restaurants, bars, museums, theaters and shopping. The cultural diversity is the only thing about it that reminds me of Houston; overall, it’s vastly different. Nowhere in Houston could I look around and see mountains in the distance. Houston certainly doesn’t preserve retro buildings aside from a handful of churches downtown.
Something exciting is always going on even during the week. I never know where the day will take me or where I’ll end up after the work day is complete. This past Tuesday, Ruben and I went to the National Night Out Against Crime in North Hollywood Park. We met local law enforcement officials and neighborhood council representatives as well as artists and musicians. I even made contacts for The Shape of Behavior. I love my new life. It’s sweeter than a full glass of Moscato. Cheers! ;)

California Love!

California, we're here! My husband, Ruben and I have lived in Houston, Texas our entire lives, but now we live in Los Angeles, CA. We finally made the big move we've wanted to make. Life is an adventure, and we have embarked. I'm going to say we're ecstatic because it's the closest word I can think of that describes the way we feel about this change.
“The City of Angels” has been good to us so far. Life is better for us here that it was in Texas. I feel like we have more freedom to be who God wants us to be here.
Generally speaking, people here in L.A. are very friendly and relaxed. It’s a very low stress, low pressure kind of lifestyle, which is great. There’s so much to see and do, so boredom is a thing of the past for us. We’ve also found that the cost of living is reasonable if you’re okay with a moderate lifestyle. We’re so blessed to actually be better off financially here than we were in Houston.
So far, this is better than anything I ever had in mind for my life. Great things happen when you surrender to God. He's showed me just how much he can do through a humble girl from a small Texas town.
